About the event
Spinning with a drop spindle is the oldest method of making yarn. It is still used today
because it is so great – all you need is a spinning pin and some fiber, and you can take it
anywhere. In this workshop, you will learn the basics of spinning: the 4 simple movements you need
to start making yarn. After this class you will be able to spin beautiful yarn and you can
continue practicing at home. Ideal for your own weaving, knitting or crochet project, or just
because you want to learn about spinning. The wool used in this spinning course comes from different native sheep breeds of Lier and surrounding areas. All the wool has a unique character and consist of varying natural color gradations from white to gray and brown. During the workshop you can use different types of Belgian wool and see what kind of yarn suits you best. Moreover, it is a sustainable, environmentally friendly and 100% natural product!
